2023 Oscar nominees: see the full list

The 2023 awards season brought together familiar faces (Steven Spielberg! Cate Blanchett! Viola Davis! Michelle Yeoh!) and returning performances (Ke Huy Quan and Brendan Fraser); which characters are blue on the inside (“The Banshees of Inisherin”) and which are blue on the outside (“Avatar: The Way of Water”). Soon, the season will reach its climax: the Oscars.
The nominees for the 95th Academy Awards are set to be announced Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. EST ahead of a March 12 ceremony in Los Angeles.
New York Times awards season columnist Kyle Buchanan wrote that the races for this year’s Oscars are exceptionally open. But it seems likely that at least some of the top categories will include Spielberg’s autobiographical drama, “The Fabelmans”; Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan’s eccentric sci-fi film, “Everything Everywhere All at Once”; and Todd Field’s downward spiraling drama, “Tár.” (Buchanan thinks a potential showdown between Blanchett, who starred in “Tár,” and Yeoh, who helmed “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” is shaping up to be the most suspenseful contest of the night.) It’s probably safe to expect guest appearances from “Elvis,” too, and from “Top Gun: Maverick” and “The Woman King.”
See below for a list of nominees, which will be updated as announcements are made.
