Australia’s Mitchell Marsh seen with his feet up on World Cup trophy, slammed

A picture that is going viral on social media shows Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh with both legs resting on top of the World Cup trophy. The photo was initially shared on Instagram by Australian skipper Pat Cummins. From there, it made its way to several social media platforms. The internet called the gesture ‘disrespectful’ and slammed him for it.

The picture was shared hours after Australia lifted the World Cup trophy. Australia played against the host, India, in the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, November 19. The photo appears to be from the hotel room where the Australian team was sitting and conversing with each other at ease.

Marsh had both his legs resting on top of the trophy as he showed off his gold medal.
