Although the summer transfer window may be closing, expect more transfer news and rumors to circulate the internet. Chelsea, in particular, have been very busy in this summer’s window, and apart from bringing in established names, they have also acquired a number of talented young players, such as Cesare Casadei, Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slonina and Omari Hutchinson . According to reports, the Blues could be in the market for another highly-rated youngster.

None but Endrick.

Endrick Felipe is one of Brazil’s top prospects. Despite turning sixteen in July, Endrick is widely regarded as the best talent to come out of Brazil since Neymar. He plays for Palmeiras, and his performances with the Brazilian team have caught the eye of a number of major European clubs, especially Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea. And the Blues could have the upper hand on their fellow European giants in the race for Brazil’s biggest talent.

According to reports, Palmeiras are not keen on selling Endrick to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Brazilian outlet Ge Globo reports that the Brazilian side would prefer to sell the wonderkid to a club outside of Spain, due to tax issues in Spain.

Ge Globo reports:

“Palmeiras do not want to sell Endrick to La Liga due to tax issues – Spanish Revenue demands a 15% fee on top of the gross value of transfers from Brazilian teams.

It would be more beneficial for Palmeiras to accept a lower offer of €45M for Endrick from other countries, such as England, instead of €50M from Spain.

Therefore, Palmeiras earns more by selling Endrick for €45m to PL than by selling him for €50m to La Liga.”

This represents a blow to the two Spanish giants, and a huge opportunity for the likes of Chelsea, who have been heavily linked with Endrick. With Todd Boehly consistent in his desire to build for the future, Endrick could just be the next big South American talent at Stamford Bridge.
