Chelsea set to sign sixth signing of January transfer window after agreeing £30.5m fee for Noni Madueke
Helsea have agreed a €35m (£30.5m) deal with PSV to sign young striker Noni Madueke.
The Blues will now discuss personal terms and a long-term contract, with permission to arrange a medical ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 20-year-old London-born striker could tip Chelsea’s spending over £150m in January alone, taking this season’s frenzy to over £450m.
The England Under-21 international has played just nine times for his club but scored twice after spending a long time with an ankle injury.
The move to west London would represent a homecoming after Madueke started his career at Crystal Palace before joining Tottenham and then moving to the Netherlands to continue his development.
Madueke can play on both wings, but the left-footed attack prefers to play from the right.
If the talks are finalized, it will be the Blues’ 15th major signing of the season and sixth this month.
Chelsea will be hoping he can improve on a run of form that has seen the side win just one of their last 10 games, leaving the club 10th in the Premier League and 10 points behind fourth-placed Newcastle.
