Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock took to the UK stage to hit Will Smith’s infamous slap at this year’s Oscars ceremony.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Chris Rock dubbed Will Smith ‘ugly’

Chris Rock is currently on tour in the UK with Dave Chappelle. However, the duo spoke about the infamous Oscars slap during a recent sold-out gig at Liverpool’s M&S Arena.

Furthermore, the 57-year-old comedian has managed to remain tight-lipped about the incident since breaking his silence on Thursday evening.

Chappelle hurt Rock by asking, ‘Did that s**t hurt?’

Rock responded with ‘Goddamn right … the motherf**ker hit me on a joke about bulls**t. Best joke I ever told.’

However, Chappelle said, ‘Will did the impression of a perfect person for 30 years. They took off his mask and showed us that he was as ugly as the rest of us.’

Furthermore, he added, ‘Whatever the consequences… I hope he doesn’t put his mask back on and let his real face breathe. I see myself in both men.’

The merch merchant then mentioned a few more sentences about the Men In Black actor’s harsh upbringing in West Philadelphia.

He quipped, ‘A lot of people forget who Will Smith is. Then 10 minutes before he was going to get the biggest prize… he acted like he was back in Philadelphia.’

More on the Oscars slap

If you didn’t know, Will Smith became a hot topic around the world when he slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards in March.

The assault happened after Rock, who was also hosting the prestigious awards, made a joke at the expense of Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s lack of hair.

Although Jada rolled her eyes when Rock called her ‘GI Jane’, Smith was having none of it as he entered the stage and slapped the Grown-Ups star.

Regardless, the Independence Day star went on to bag Best Actor for his performance in King Richard later that evening.

Meanwhile, Smith issued a public apology for his actions the next day.

He wrote in a message, ‘I was out of line and wrong.’

He also claimed, ‘I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.’
