In Corseul, a dead woman and a man in absolute emergency after a frontal collision
The extent of the police force, combined with the preoccupied tone of the firefighters, foreshadowed the worst. A 91-year-old woman lost her life at the wheel of her car on Tuesday April 25, shortly after 9:30 a.m., in the town of Corseul (22). On the RD794, towards Dinan, his car collided head-on with a utility vehicle, which was coming in the opposite direction.
At the wheel of the latter, a 55-year-old man was seriously injured. The man was in an “absolute emergency” situation. The firefighters transported him to the Aublette crossroads, a few hundred meters away, “waiting” for a medical destination, depending on the evolution of his condition. The héliSmur of Saint-Malo (35) was alerted, for a possible transport.
The circumstances of the accident remain to be clarified. An investigation was opened by the gendarmerie, present on the spot.
Several filter barriers of the gendarmerie still prevented vehicles from using the RD794, shortly before noon; these were about to be lifted.
