Sri Lanka bounced back in the three-game T20I series against India with a 16-point win and tied the game 1-1. Dasun Shanaka showed a heroic effort for Sri Lanka as he scored 56 unbeaten runs from 22 balls and took a few wickets to help the team claim victory.
After suffering a narrow loss in Game 1, Sri Lanka added spice to the series in Game 2 by leveling the score 1-1 with a 16-point win. India won the match draw and opted to play first, but things started to go wrong for the hosts early on. Sri Lankan openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis scored 80 runs for the first wicket while the latter netted fifty. Dasun Shanaka was the leading scorer with 56 unbeaten runs on 22 balls.
They were ahead of the opposition in the second set as the bowlers cut India to 34/4 in the first six overs. Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel stitched up a crucial partnership and pushed the teamโs scoreboard close to the target, but they were unable to pull off a win. Axar scored 65 points while Suryakumar played a 51 point shot. The Sri Lankan bowlers put on a collective effort with the trio of Dilshan Madushanka, Kasun Rajitha and Dasun Shanaka each taking a few wickets.
