Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-August 2022, starting with this former “Dancing With the Stars” pro… On Aug. 21, Deux Moi reported that, according to an anonymous source, Julianne Hough and long-term pal Ben Barnes could be seen holding hands during a recent performance of “Into the Woods” on Broadway. The following day, Life & Style reported that, after years of rumors about the nature of their relationship, the duo finally took their relationship to the next level earlier this year. “Their friendship has gravitated into a full-blown romance. … They’ve officially been an item for two months and he has been flying to and from L.A. to be with her in New York. When they’re not together, they FaceTime every day. They’re so adorable together. Everything about the relationship is so easy and Julianne can be her true self with him. She’s never been happier,” said a source. The “Dancing With the Stars” alum and the English actor — who starred as Prince Caspian in two “The Chronicles of Narnia” movies and recently starred on “Westworld,” “The Punisher” and “Shadow and Bone” — first sparked romance rumors in early 2020 amid a rough patch in her marriage with Brooks Laich. As for the other man to whom Julianne was linked in the wake of her split from the former hockey star… Life & Style reported that, according to a source, she and male model Charlie Wilson called it quits “a few months ago” because although “they were physically attracted to each other,” they “didn’t gel emotionally.” The insider also described the romance as a “total rebound fling” for Julianne following her breakup from Brooks.

It’s official! Scott Disick was snapped holding hands with his rumored girlfriend, Rod Stewart’s daughter Kimberly Stewart, during a night out in Santa Monica, California, on Aug. 20 — her 43rd birthday. (See photos here.) Four days later, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, the long-term pals — who’ve sparked several rounds of romance rumors over the years — have been “dating for a few months” now and are “really into each other.” A second source said that the duo have been “getting to know each other in a different way than seeing each other as friends” and that things between them are not “serious yet.”

During an interview with Variety that debuted online on Aug. 24, Olivia Wilde shed some light on the not-so-nice circumstances that led to her 2020 split from Jason Sudeikis. While reflecting on her former fiancé’s apparent decision to serve her with legal documents pertaining to the custody of their two children as she was presenting her upcoming film “Don’t Worry Darling” in front of thousands of entertainment professionals at CinemaCon in April, the actress-filmmaker said, “It was my workplace. In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting. It shouldn’t have been able to happen. There was a huge breach in security, which is really scary. [There were] hurdles that you had to jump through to get into that room. … This was something that required forethought. … I hated that this nastiness distracted from the work of so many different people and the studio that I was up there representing. To try to sabotage that was really vicious. But I had a job to do; I’m not easily distracted. But, you know, sadly, it was not something that was entirely surprising to me. I mean, there’s a reason I left that relationship.” Yeesh! (The “Saturday Night Live” alum has insisted he had no idea when or where his ex would be served.) As for her relationship with Harry Styles, Olivia told Variety she was “not going to say anything about it.” But the actress-filmmaker then added, “We both go out of our way to protect our relationship; I think it’s out of experience, but also just out of deep love.” Hear that? She said deep love!

In mid-August, The Sun reported that Gérard Pique is dating a 23-year-old public relations student named Clara Chia Marti who works for his production company. According to the British tabloid, they’ve been an item for at least “the past few months” — since before the soccer star and former long-term partner Shakira announced that they were separating amid rumors that she caught him cheating. (There’s no evidence that Gérard and Clara took their relationship to the next level before he and the Grammy winner called it quits.) “They have been keeping quiet about their relationship but those around them all know what is happening. People have been helping him keep the romance hush-hush and have wiped Clara’s social media accounts so people can’t find photos of her. That alone makes his mates think he is actually quite serious about being with her,” said a source. On Aug. 21, “Socialité” published a video of Gérard and Clara — who’s half Shakira’s age — dancing together and making out at a Spanish music festival. According to the Spanish entertainment news outlet, Shakira was “very angry” to see the professional athlete out and about with his new love as she’d made a pact with him to keep any new relationships under wraps for a full year following their split.

They just can’t quit each other! On Aug. 21, Deux Moi reported that, according to multiple anonymous sources, comedian Trevor Noah and “Friday Night Lights” alum Minka Kelly are spending time together again just three months after multiple media outlets reported that they’d called it quits for the second time. They were reportedly spied hanging out together in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood, riding bicycles and also dining with her former “Almost Human” co-star Michael Ealy and his wife. But only time will tell if an official reconciliation is in the cards…

“Sex/Life” co-stars Adam Demos and Sarah Shahi are raising questions about their relationship status again… Earlier this year, the “Person of Interest” alum sparked rumors that they’d quietly gotten engaged when she stepped out wearing what appeared to be a massive engagement ring. Then on Aug. 22, the “Unreal” actor was snapped sporting a silver band on his ring finger while out with the actress in his native Australia. (See photos here.) The eye-catching bling sparked a fresh round of rumors that Adam and Sarah secretly tied the knot. So far, they’re keeping mum on the subject.

On Aug. 24, multiple media outlets reported that — just three months after they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary — Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin are throwing in the towel. The former model reportedly filed for divorce in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Aug. 19, noting in her legal paperwork that the marriage is “irretrievably broken.” (“I’m sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone. While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters,” she confirmed in a statement to People magazine. Sly, meanwhile, said in a statement, “I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues.”) In her divorce filing, the mother of three requested exclusive access to their home in Florida and accused the actor of engaging in “the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate.” She then asked the court to block him from making further changes to their martial estate until after their assets have been equitably distributed between them — and after she’s been “compensated and made whole” for the assets Sly allegedly took amid their breakup. There’d been recent signs that there was trouble in paradise. On Aug. 10, for example, Jennifer raised eyebrows when she took to Instagram to cryptically caption a photo of herself and the three daughters she shares with Sly, “These girls are my priority. Nothing else matters. The four of us forever.” Not long after that, the Oscar nominee had a giant tattoo of Jennifer on his shoulder covered up with a portrait of his beloved late bullmastiff Butkus, who co-starred with him in “Rocky.” His rep insisted to DailyMail.com that the actor-filmmaker simply “intended to refresh the tattoo image of his wife” but “the results were unsatisfactory and, unfortunately, unfixable” so “he had to cover the original image.” The rep added that “Mr. Stallone loves his family.”

On Aug. 24, Page Six reported that, according to a source, Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin appeared “so happy” together in recent weeks, and the actor was “blindsided” when she suddenly filed for divorce on Aug. 19. “You couldn’t think of a nicer couple. … . It sounded like everything was great,” said one source, adding that the former model recently visited the Oscar nominee on the Oklahoma City set of his upcoming Paramount+ series “Tulsa King.” Another source said of Jennifer’s allegations that Sly intentionally depleted their marital assets, “It’s so ridiculous. … It’s just a pure lie.” Said a third source, “Sylvester’s intent was to work things out with Jennifer. Now I don’t know [what will happen] because she decided to go public with everything.” TMZ, meanwhile, reported that Jennifer decided to throw in the towel after a disagreement over Sly’s new dog snowballed into a much greater argument. According to the webloid, Sly wanted to get a new Rottweiler for protection, and although Jennifer firmly objected, he ultimately acquired the pooch. The ensuing argument reportedly “brought up other issues” in the marriage, although those issues did not appear to be dealbreakers at the time. TMZ notes that Sly was shocked when Jennifer pulled the plug because he thought they’d be able to work through their issues. He later told TMZ that his dog did not play a role in the breakup: “We did not end the relationship on such a trivial argument. We just went in different directions. I have the highest respect for Jennifer. I will always love her. She’s an amazing woman. She’s the nicest human being I’ve ever met,” he said, doubling down on his previous claims that he covered up the tattoo of Jennifer on his arm when it was ruined during a touch-up. He also said that he still has a large tattoo of his estranged missus on his back.

Is there a new man in Madonna’s life? On Aug. 18, the newly single pop star was snapped walking arm-in-arm with a mystery man while out for dinner in Syracuse, Italy. (See photos here.) While it’s entirely possible they’re just friends, we don’t expect the Queen of Pop to stay single long — and it’s already been months since she and her last boyfriend, Ahlamalik Williams, called it quits.

Congratulations are in order! As Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz celebrate their first anniversary of taking their friendship to the next level, People magazine reported on Aug. 24 that, according to a source, they’re “very happy” together. “Their careers are a big focus and they share this passion. When they are off, they are very low-key. They enjoy quiet date nights with friends but most often just hang out at home,” said the source, adding that the “Magic Mike” star is “serious” about the singer-actress. “It’s not a casual relationship. They have been exclusive for a long time,” noted the insider. Echoed a second People source, “The romantic relationship is quite intense and positive for both of them. … Zoe sees the depth of character and a hidden maturity [in Channing], a person who thinks quite a bit. She is impressed with all of that. They have enormous respect for each other above and beyond the romantic attraction.”

On Aug. 19, Charlie Heaton was snapped sharing a warm embrace with a pretty blonde “mystery woman” at a music festival in London. (See photos here.) The apparent PDA sparked a wave of rumors that the “Stranger Things” star and his on-screen and real-life girlfriend of several years, Natalia Dyer, had quietly called it quits — or that he’d strayed from the relationship. Just as the rumor mill went into overdrive, a few “Stranger Things” superfans stepped in to set the record straight: In early August, Charlie and Natalia were photographed celebrating together at the pretty blonde’s wedding. But that’s not all! The mystery woman’s husband was also on hand when she and Charlie were photographed looking cozy together at the concert. In fact, both couples have been photographed together several times over the years. So there you have it, “Stranger Things” fans — rest easy: The mystery woman isn’t a mystery at all!

On the Aug. 24 episode of Kate Casey’s “Reality Life” podcast, Brittany’s Snow’s husband of two years, Tyler Stanaland, revealed that his “Selling the OC” co-star Kayla Cardona has tried to kiss him multiple times. “One night, Kayla did try and kiss me. And then it happened another night as well,” he said, adding that “out of respect” for his colleague, he’s tried to “minimize it and brush past it so that there isn’t drama.” (Cameras were not rolling when she allegedly came on to him.) “But that was something where I had to kind of set some hard lines and some boundaries and reconsider the social environment a bit. Nothing happened. It was just … something that, you know, you don’t do to somebody who is married,” he continued, adding that Kayla’s actions crossed a line. As for the “Pitch Perfect” actress, “My wife and I are very strong. We communicate. And there’s no issue between us,” Tyler said.

During an interview with “Extra” that debuted online on Aug. 23, Demi Lovato revealed that her new boyfriend, Jute$, played a major role in her new album: “I am seeing someone right now and I’m very, very happy and I feel like that’s inspired so many of the love songs on the album,” she said. Added the former child star of her new romance, “You have to find someone that is your best friend that makes you laugh. Laughing is so important to me. … Too many times, I’ve been in relationships where, like, the person is just attractive or there is just an intense connection. When you find someone that’s all of it, it makes it completely different.”

On Aug. 20, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck exchanged vows for the second time: The singer-actress and the Oscar winner said “I do” in front of famous friends clad in all-white ensembles — including Matt Damon and Kevin Smith — at the groom’s 87-acre estate near Savannah, Georgia. The power couple previously eloped in Las Vegas on July 17.

Several of the bride’s former “Modern Family” co-stars were on hand for her nuptials including Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Nolan Gould, Ariel Winter and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who officiated the ceremony. Vanessa Hudgens, meanwhile, served as a bridesmaid. Also on the guest list? Nina Dobrev and boyfriend Shaun White, Debby Ryan, Samara Weaving, Brandi Cyrus, former Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison and fiancée Lauren Zima, former “The Bachelor” stars Chris Soules, Ben Higgins and Nick Viall, former “The Bachelorette” star Kaitlyn Bristowe and fiancé Jason Tartick, plus Bachelor Nation personalities Derek Peth, Caelynn Miller-Keyes, Joe Amabile, Evan Bass and Michael Allio. Sarah and Wells, who got engaged in 2019, were set to wed in August 2020 but were forced to push their nuptials several times amid the coronavirus pandemic.

During an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” that debuted online on Aug. 24, Jonathan Knight revealed that he secretly married his long-term partner, Harley Rodriguez. “Everybody just assumed we’re married,” said the New Kids on the Block singer, adding that they didn’t have a big wedding because of the pandemic but “it’s coming.” Jonathan popped the question in late 2016 after eight years of coupledom.

On Aug. 24, Us Weekly broke the news that Emma Slater and Sasha Farber recently went their separate ways following four years of marriage. “They’ve been apart for many months now. They both have not been wearing their wedding rings and are each leading a single life,” said a source, adding that it was a “tough decision” for the “Dancing With the Stars” pros to call it quits and that they’re still “figuring out” life apart. “It’s been a difficult time [because] they really care about each other and have been together for so long,” the source continued. The dancers will reportedly “continue to work together” in the wake of the breakup. “They’re pros and won’t let their personal life get in the way of [the show],” the insider said. Emma and Sasha tied the knot in 2018 following an off-and-on courtship of around seven years.

James Kennedy, meanwhile, deejayed the afterparty. Former “VPR” cast members Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute also made the guest list. The bride and groom’s 16-month-old daughter, Summer, handled flower girl duties. It’s the second marriage for both Scheana and Brock, who got engaged in the summer of 2021.

Blinked and you missed it! On Aug. 20, Life & Style reported that, according to a source, Olivia Rodrigo’s relationship with DJ and “it” guy Zack Bia “sort of fizzled” earlier this year. “They were casually dating but haven’t spent time together in a while. There were no issues — they both have different work schedules and different friend groups,” said a source. (Us Weekly later confirmed the breakup news.) The duo reportedly started dating in mid-February.

_

On Aug. 19, Life & Style broke the news that, according to a source, Jacob Elordi and Lori Loughlin’s daughter, influencer Olivia Jade, “are not dating” anymore. “They were never official but [had] gotten close earlier this summer and enjoyed spending time together,” the source said, adding that the former “Dancing With the Stars” competitor is “having fun being single” while the “Euphoria” actor is “in full-force work mode” and “really focused on his career.” Continued the insider of Jacob, “He’s not looking to jump into anything serious at the moment.” The duo first sparked romance rumors in late 2021. Us Weekly later confirmed the breakup news.

Us Weekly reported on Aug. 23 that, according to a source, Clare Crawley was “never officially dating” Blake Monar, who briefly competed for her heart on season 16 of “The Bachelorette” in 2020. “They hung out a few times and enjoyed each other’s company at the time,” said a source, adding that Clare was “still healing from her very public, painful breakup” from Dale Moss when she reconnected with Blake earlier this year. “She is in such a better place in her life now as it all worked out for the best. She’s honestly doing great. … She continues searching for the one. Nothing has changed in terms of her still wanting to get married and have kids,” said a second source.

It’s over again for JoJo Siwa and off-and-on love Kylie Prew, who announced their second breakup on Instagram Live in mid-August. “I don’t like drama and it makes me really, really anxious and so I don’t really want to talk about it for a while, but someone asked me just now if I was single. I am. I’ve been single for almost two months, and it’s OK. It’s not deep, I promise. Everything’s fine. Not everything has to be messy and gross because it’s not, and I just want to clear the air,” Kylie said. She and the “Dance Moms” alum first called it quits in late 2021 but then reconciled earlier this year.

_

On Aug. 20, Leah Messer took to Instagram to announce that she and her boyfriend of a year, Jaylan Mobley, are engaged. “Two souls, one heart. It’s official!!” the “Teen Mom” star captioned a slideshow of photos depicting the proposal, which went down during a vacation in Costa Rica.

Every couple from the second season of “Love Is Blind” has now officially called it quits. On Aug. 21 — just four days after Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones released a joint statement announcing that they’re going their separate ways — multiple media outlets reported that Danielle Ruhl filed to divorce Nick Thompson in Chicago on Aug. 15. The duo — who celebrated their first wedding anniversary in June — have yet to publicly address the breakup news.

On Aug. 21, “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” star Paget Berry took to Instagram to announce that he’s engaged to his girlfriend of about a year, Johana Mills. “For me it was pretty much love at first sight,” he captioned a montage video featuring highlights from their relationship so far including several shots depicting the proposal. “There is no one I’d rather laugh, cry, dance, and attempt all sorts of accents with than you Johana, I am so proud of you and all that you are achieving, and I am super stoked to be your fiancé and future husband.” Paget was previously engaged to co-star Ciara Duggan.

_

During an interview with People magazine that debuted online on Aug. 24, former “Sister Wives” star Christine Brown said that she “stopped believing in polygamy” in 2018 — three years before she walked away from her spiritual union with Kody Brown. “I started thinking maybe this isn’t working for me,” she said. “I realized I didn’t really want to live it anymore. I didn’t like sharing a husband or feeling like I wasn’t important.” The reality star went on to note that she “would love to date” sometime “down the road.” Said the mother of six, “Love the idea of the end having a romantic partner. But I talked to [my youngest child] about it the other day and she’s like, ‘Mom, I really like our life how it is now.’ … I’m just going to let fate take care of that one.” She added that she “will be a monogamist from here on out” and hopes to eventually find “a guy who actually loves me and wants to be with me intimately.”

On Aug. 22, DailyMail.com reported that Jared Kushner claims in his new book, “Breaking History,” that Billy Joel and Bono played a role in his reconciliation with Ivanka Trump after he dumped her in 2008 — three years into their relationship — because she wasn’t Jewish. They reconnected several months later when their mutual friend Wendi Deng — Rupert Murdoch’s third wife — invited them both (plus the “Piano Man” singer-songwriter) on a weeklong Mediterranean cruise. Jared shares a highlight from the trip: During “lunch at Bono’s house in the town of Eze on the French Riviera,” Billy played piano while Bono and Bob Geldof sang together. Ivanka eventually converted to Judaism and learned how to cook to “make our Friday nights together even more special,” Jared writes. He goes on to detail their engagement: Jared visited Ivanka’s father, Donald Trump, at Trump Tower to ask for permission to propose. Although he told his future father-in-law that he planned “a surprise engagement,” the former “The Apprentice” star immediately “alerted Ivana that she should expect an imminent proposal.” Jared then took Ivanka to see “Wicked” on Broadway while his brother — model Karlie Kloss’s husband, Joshua Kushner — scattered rose petals and lit candles at his apartment, where he popped the question. At another point in his memoir, Jared details his first date with his future wife, which started as a business meeting while they were serving as attachés for their fathers. “Ivanka was not what I expected,” he writes. “In addition to being arrestingly beautiful, which I knew before we met, she was warm, funny and brilliant. She has a big heart and a tremendous zest for exploring new things.” He concludes by noting that their time in the White House brought them “closer together.” Says Jared, “There’s no way I could have survived my four years in Washington without Ivanka, my best friend and partner.”

On Aug. 20, former Facebook and Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg married former NBC Online News producer Tom Bernthal at Trail Creek Ranch in Jackson, Wyoming, in front of famous faces including Serena Williams, Mark Zuckerberg, Arianna Huffington and the groom’s look-alike brother, “The Walking Dead” star Jon Bernthal. Tom took to Instagram to share a wedding photo along with the caption, “After both experiencing loss, @sherylsandberg and I weren’t sure we would ever find love again. Over the last three years, we’ve merged our lives and blended our families. Our wedding today was a dream come true.” Rob Goldberg — the brother of Sheryl’s late husband Dave, who died suddenly of a heart attack in 2015 — introduced his longtime pal to the “Lean In” author in 2019. They got engaged in 2020. “How hard is it to find someone you want to grow old with the first time, let alone find that again? … I think I felt lucky all along, but I feel even luckier because now I know what it is to have that loss and have that absence. … I want people to see there’s love after loss, love for us after death, love for us after divorce,” Sheryl told People magazine, which published exclusive wedding photos.
