Kyrgyzstan’s parliament voted to demarcate disputed sections of the border with Uzbekistan

The representatives of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approved the agreement on the demarcation of the remaining disputed sections on the border with Uzbekistan. It has been reported RIA news.

64 members of parliament voted for the ratification of the international agreement, 19 voted against. Deputies cast their votes in three simultaneous readings.

On November 3, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on several sections of the border as well as an agreement on joint management of the water resources of the Andijan Reservoir. Completion of legal registration of state boundary lines based on the principles of mutual benefit, equality and good neighborliness serves the interests not only of both parties but also of Central Asia as a whole, it was noted.
