‘Legendary Ladies’: Cisco Photographer Celebrates Women Over 40 in New Series

CISCO, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Life sometimes moves quickly and often cherished moments can slip away as quickly as they came. Tyler Clement, Cisco photographer helps preserve those moments for a few local women in her new “Legendary Ladies” series.
“It was definitely a lot of work, but I put my heart and soul into every client I had for it,” Clement said.
The idea of celebrating women over 40 with a professional photo shoot is simple, but it has a deeply personal meaning for Clement.
“My mum passed away at 49 and we didn’t have a lot of great pictures of her, certainly not professional ones. Just because like most women, she didn’t like being in front of the camera. I I have the ability to do these photos but I didn’t push her to get in front of the camera,” Clement said.

The year-long project was turned into a magazine featuring photos of many Big Country women over the age of 40, as well as a few words from the women themselves like client Elisa Robledo.
“I have five children and they were all active in sports so it was always me taking pictures… My husband and I are empty nests now so there are no more pictures to take. others,” Robledo explained.
Robledo said she recently turned 60 and thought it was the best time to take some time for herself. She shared that the final product was beyond her initial expectations.

“I was so nervous at first, but the portraits are just amazing,” Robledo explained.
Clément and his makeup and styling artist worked over four hours in the studio with each woman. They consulted with each client to ensure their portrait was unique and timeless enough to be passed down from generation to generation.

“We had a great time getting to know all of these women and their different backgrounds, where they’re from, their different hobbies and what they love,” stylist Rosalind Hixon shared.
Each session was tailored specifically to each woman who walked through the doors of the studio.
“What they want to wear, what style they want. What they want people to think of them when they see these photos, so we can design the whole experience around exactly what they want” , Clement added.
Clement said some of the shots got a little emotional thinking about his own mother and all the photos mean to these ladies and their loved ones.
“I don’t want to get morbid, but like every day isn’t promised and that’s why I always advocate being on camera,” Clement said.
Robledo said she was happy to have taken this opportunity and was happy to have a legacy to be proud of.
“Oh my God, I just see…Time has passed and the kids have grown…Just a lot of memories in this photo for me,” Robledo shared.
