Miss Norway hit by Covid hours before Miss Universe 2023 final as fans pray for Ida Hauan
MISS Universe contestant Miss Norway reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 just before the beauty pageant final.
According to the hosts, Jeannie Mai Jenkins and Olivia Culpo, Miss Norway 2022, Ida Hauan, could not make it to the pageant’s coronation party because she is currently “ill”.
On her Instagram account, Hauan confirmed that she had the Covid.
“So…I was too unlucky to get Covid right before [sic] the finale,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
“It breaks my heart because I’ve worked so hard to get to where I am today. But I’m already starting to feel better.
“Thank you so much to everyone who is thinking of me today.”
A statement from the official Miss Universe Instagram account revealed that Hauan will be disqualified from the competition.
“Unfortunately, Miss Universe Norway @idahauan has contracted COVID-19 and will no longer be competing tonight,” it read.
“The Miss Universe Organization and her fellow delegates are saddened to hear this news and wish her a speedy recovery.”
