Leye Odunjo, a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, has resigned from his position as PDP deputy chairman as well as his membership at the state level.
In a letter he wrote and addressed to the national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, through the state chairman, Sikirulai Ogundele, Odunjo announced his resignation and stated that his decision to leave and his membership in the PDP were his own.
The former OGHA member thanked Ogundele and other PDP supporters in the state for their support, love and cooperation in a letter dated Tuesday, August 30, a copy of which was made available to -our correspondent on Friday. He also said that he will miss them all, but did not reveal what his next political move will be.
“I respectfully write to tell Your Excellency of my intention to resign from both my positions as a member of the party and as the state deputy chairman of the PDP of Ogun State.
“I give God the glory for allowing me to serve the organization faithfully and diligently since its establishment in 1998. . I spent eight years as a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, ran for governor, was the party’s nominee for the Senate in the most recent general election, and more. “My decision to resign from my post and to leave the party is personal and divine. I would like to use this chance to express my gratitude to the state chairman and every member of the state working committee for their help, collaboration and affection that we have shared.
Working with you all was fun. You will all be missed.
“This will come as an unpleasant shock to many of the party members. I also offer my appreciation to all local government chairmen, party state exco members, those who left the party before me, and those still in the party, in government my local, Ado-Odo/Ota, and around Ogun.
