Sake brewers toast to surge in global sales

Luckily for Japan’s more than 1,100 sake breweries, there is one light shining: continued strong overseas sales. Sake exports in 2021 totaled 40.2 billion yen ($294m; £243m), according to the Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association. He added that it was a record for the 12th consecutive year.
