East Ham head into their final game before the Premier League halts for an international break sitting in the bottom three.

Aston Villa are in town as David Moyes and his team seek a move away from the relegation zone.

The planned trip to the Etihad to take on Manchester City has been postponed, so this is Moyes’ side’s last chance for a few weeks to get away from the relegation zone.

The Hammers are unbeaten in their three league games at the London Stadium in 2023, a welcome stat given they haven’t won any of their five road games since the start of the year.

Unai Emery’s Villa are safe from the relegation battle below them and have been in fine form away from home in recent weeks.

Date, kick-off time and venue

West Ham vs Aston Villa is scheduled to kick off at 2pm GMT on Sunday March 12, 2023.

The match will take place at the London Stadium.

West Ham vs Aston Villa team news

Michail Antonio suffered a calf knock midweek after scoring a brace, while Flynn Downes (ankle) and Lucas Paqueta (calf) are also lightly injured. However, none of these appear to be serious issues.

Lukasz Fabianski remains out and a heel injury is still a problem for Vladimir Coufal, but Danny Ings is fit and pushing for a start against his former side.

Philippe Coutinho is not expected to return for Aston Villa before the international break, while Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos are also still out.

Leander Dendoncker is a doubt with a hand injury, which Emery says was recovered in a “domestic accident” at home.

West Ham vs Aston Villa Prediction

West Ham are still far from convincing, with that midweek win in Cyprus not enough to suggest a return to form could be imminent for Moyes’ side.

Meanwhile, Villa will be aiming for a first-half finish under Unai Emery, although they too have been relatively inconsistent. A nervous draw could be on the cards.

Draw, 1-1.
