Can LIV Golf players play in the 2023 PGA Championship?
After seeing LIV Golf players not only play in The Masters, but with some of them near the top of the leaderboard like Brooks Koepka, shocking Phil Mickelson and Patrick Reed, some fans may ask about their 2023 PGA Championship status and if LIV players are eligible to compete.
The PGA of America announced earlier this year that all LIV Golf members who qualify for the tournament will be allowed to play without exception. A brief and incomplete list of players which includes Koepka, Mickelson, Mito Pereira, Abraham Ancer, Dustin Johnson and several others. Who won the 2022 PGA Championship?
Last year, the second major of the year was played at Southern Hills in Tulsa, OK. Mito Pereira held the 54-hole lead, but an ill-advised drive in the stretch pushed him out of the lead, forcing a playoff between Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris. The former prevailed, giving Thomas his second major championship victory and his second Wanamaker Trophy.
